No, I’m not talking about Windows.
A long time Ford customer and a Ford V8 engine builder, I have never considered looking at Honda or Toyota vehicles.
But there I was, at a Honda dealer, negotiating the purchase of a no-frills Honda Accord VP. I have to admit that it was the super low price and Honda’s implicit promise of better reliability that swayed me. I got something like $600 below invoice which is even lower than Edmund’s TMV or Carsdirect.com pricing.
This is still more than a top-of-the-line Ford Focus SES sedan I saw at Frontier Ford, which had a sticker price of $12,650. But I was a little turned off by the poor build quality and poor design of the Focus: half of the view in the rear view mirror was taken up by the sun-glasses holder/map lights. The lower half of that view was taken up by the rear spoiler. In other words, you had no rear-view…
So bye-bye Ford, hello Honda.
