Cholesterol-full celebration

Apr 26 2007 Published by Ben Chong under The Daily Geek

So in order to celebrate the low-cholesterol blood test results I got yesterday, my colleague Victor and I had pork belly for lunch.

This is the traditional Hakka dish with the salted veggies.

It was nice but for some reason, I had trouble eating the fatty parts. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I had changed my diet over the past few months. So what would have been savory last year is now a little, shall we say, gross?

Sore feet, happy geek

Apr 25 2007 Published by Ben Chong under The Daily Geek

I just got great news today.

I have been having several years of sky-high cholesterol levels; to the point where the doctor was advising medication and my life insurance provider was estatic. But now…

But now, everything is back to normal.

Yippeee!

The secret?

I have started running again. This is after a hiatus of nearly 17 years.

Well worth the cost of the running shoes and aching muscles.

Technorati is some kind of blog spider that scans for and finds blogs and makes them searchable.

Very cool concept.

So here I come!

Blog of mine! I claim thee!

Music, teenagers and cool/uncool

Apr 16 2007 Published by Ben Chong under The Daily Geek

Music and teenagers are like twins. Never one without the other. You know your baby has become a teenager when she asks you to turn on the radio the moment she gets into the car.

Some “progressive” parents may feel that by listening to and enjoying the same music, they can create a better bond with their teenagers.

But be warned, parents can easily cross the limit of coolness.

For example, it is fine to listen to a new album that your teen just bought.

It is not so cool when you buy and start wearing the band T-shirt.

The band becomes completely uncool when you start playing their songs on the guitar.
