The Silicon Valley Geek aka Ben Chong has been a Silicon Valley resident since 1996 and an Internet denizen since 1994.
During his youth, he was active on soc.culture.singapore, led a petition to protest against Internet censorship in Singapore and moderated the now-defunct soc.culture.singapore.moderated newsgroup.
While at Splashtop Inc (formerly DeviceVM, Inc), Ben helped invent the concept of Instant-On, which is such a novel concept that even Steve Jobs talked about it when introducing the new MacBook Airs.
